Americana Trilogy is a journey into the music of the American South..

Three legendary places, three distinct sounds, and the remarkable people whose talent, stories, and communities helped create a soundtrack that reached far beyond their hometowns.

Our journey begins in Muscle Shoals, where an unassuming Alabama community on the banks of the Tennessee River became one of the most influential recording centers in the world. Here, musicians, producers, songwriters, and the legendary Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section—forever known as The Swampers—proved that extraordinary music doesn't require a big city—it requires extraordinary people.

Over four days and three nights, we'll step inside the studios where some of America's most enduring music was created, experience exceptional Southern food and hospitality, and spend time with people who know the stories behind the songs. We'll explore not only what happened here, but why Muscle Shoals became a place where artists came to create—and returned again and again.

This isn't a journey built around standing behind velvet ropes. It's about conversations, connections, and experiencing the Shoals through the people who call it home. Our time together culminates with a private evening at Cypress Moon Studios on the banks of the Tennessee River—a gathering of food, stories, musicians, and music in the very place that became an important part of the Muscle Shoals story. .

Before Southern Rock became a genre recognized around the world, something extraordinary was already happening in Macon, Georgia.

This was a city with music in its bones. Little Richard grew up here and helped ignite rock & roll. Otis Redding was raised here and became one of the defining voices of American soul. Then The Allman Brothers Band made Macon home, Capricorn Records was founded, and musicians, producers, songwriters and road crews converged on this Southern city to create a sound — and a community — that would influence American music for generations.

The story reaches far beyond one band or one genre. Capricorn became home to artists including The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band and Wet Willie, while musicians and producers such as Chuck Leavell and Paul Hornsby became part of a remarkable creative community whose influence continues today.

But we're not coming to Macon simply to look at memorabilia.

Helping us discover the city will be longtime Allman Brothers Business Manager Willie Perkins — a man whose own story could be part of a Southern Rock movie. Willie was a lawyer working for a bank in Atlanta, where one of the clients he represented was Coca-Cola. He could have followed a comfortable and conventional corporate path. Instead, he chose an entirely different one: he went to work with a group of long-haired rock and rollers in Macon who were changing American music.

It turned into quite a ride.

Willie spent years inside the world of The Allman Brothers Band, not observing the story from the outside but helping manage the people, personalities, business and life surrounding one of America's most influential bands. Through Willie, we'll explore Macon with the perspective of someone who didn't read about this history. He lived it.

We'll visit the places where Southern Rock took shape, hear the stories behind the music, share meals and conversations, and meet some of the people who helped create this remarkable chapter of American music.

This is Macon. And the music is only part of the story.

There are places in the world that seem untouched by time: The Scottish Highlands are one of them.

For six unforgettable nights, Rothes Glen becomes ours — a magnificent private castle in the heart of Speyside, where crackling fireplaces, warm hospitality and centuries of Scottish character welcome us home each evening.

But this is not simply a stay in a castle.

Our days unfold through experiences created around the people, traditions and stories of Scotland. We'll walk through the history of Culloden and the ancient stones of Clava Cairns, share whisky and conversation with renowned whisky expert Charlie MacLean, experience the traditions of Gaelic music, and discover a side of Speyside that cannot be found on an ordinary itinerary.

And then there is The Gathering — an afternoon on the grounds of Rothes Glen filled with Highland tradition, friendly competition, music, laughter and a few surprises we aren't quite ready to reveal.

There will be music and art, whisky and cigars, wonderful food and plenty of laughter. There will also be something increasingly rare in travel: time. Time to linger over breakfast, sit beside the fire, wander the grounds and enjoy the people who have gathered around the same table.

Our final evening brings together many of the threads of the week — an extraordinary dinner, some of Speyside's whisky makers, Scottish music and one last gathering around the fire.
